Our design for a memorial to those who lost their lives in terror attacks in Sousse and Bardo takes the form of an Hypaethral - an open structure - which gathers itself centrally within a symbolic landscape. It is a place of sanctuary; a place to remember as well as place of hope.
The Hypaethral is formed by a centrally located Pillar of Remembrance and three luminous, cast glass Pillars of Reflection. Together they form a space with a peaceful atmosphere. A densely planted landscape - a Garden of Peace -surrounds the Hypaethral. The texture, colour and scent of its foliage and flowers provides an important transition the public park to the memorial.
