Peckham Square, London, UK

Peckham is one of the most diverse areas in the UK, with a wide range of ethnicities and age groups; however the square, at present, does not have an identity which promotes this diversity. To make a space which is truly reflective of everyone is one of the key tasks for the project. It should not prioritise one type of user over another, but should be inclusive, safe and welcoming.
We aim to develop a pluralist landscape with a range of interconnected spaces of differing character. It should be able to accommodate multiple uses at any one time, as well as being a backdrop for day-to-day life. It should be a space of both/and rather than either/or.
The Square should be seen as the common ground which provides an invitation to all to participate in the life of the community. Our ambition for this project is to ensure that the landscape at Peckham Square becomes a vibrant, meaningful and inclusive place for all residents of Peckham.
