Riverfront Regeneration, King's Lynn, UK
The Riverfront Regeneration project aims to regenerate key areas of the historic riverfront of King’s Lynn. Combining both new and upgraded public spaces alongside the provision of additional leisure and hospitality facilities, the project seeks to ensure the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the riverfront through its phased regeneration.
The project focusses on two key areas which offer the greatest potential for improvement and the generation of activity: Custom House (and Purfleet Quay) and Devils’ Alley. The two project areas mark the ends of South Quay - the only publicly accessible stretch of riverfront in the centre of King’s Lynn.
The Grade I Listed Custom House is to be developed as a flexible hospitality, exhibition and events venue, while Purfleet Quay is provided with new infrastructure for events. The land at Devil's Alley will become a new public space, framed by a steel pergola.
