‘Light-house’ is a 25m2 microhome utilising a stacked programme on a minimal footprint to create a distinct vertical figure. It presents a generosity of spatial experience with vertical movement through a series of luminous spaces promoting health and well-being.
‘Light-house’ is designed to be economic in construction and economic in use. Modern methods of construction employing efficiency in structure and envelope, standardisation of materials and dry assembly, help to minimise waste and capital cost. The integration of renewable technologies for power, heating and water ensures low running costs for inhabitants.
‘Light-house’ is designed to have minimal environmental impact through the adoption of a range of strategies. Minimising land requirement, material resources for construction and the integration of renewable technologies leads to a low carbon, sustainable building solution.
