Akureyri, Iceland - Competition, Winner

Historically Akureyri, in Iceland, was informed by its relationship to the surrounding environment, however over time these connections between the town, its people and its setting have been eroded. To reconnect the town with its spectacular location a series of landscape initiatives are proposed including the creation of three linear parks and the formation of a new inlet connecting the main shopping street to the harbour.
