Levensford House, Dumbarton

Levensford House is a Grade B listed 19th century mansion house set in extensive grounds. A new apartment block is located in a clearing formed on the edge of a wooded area defining the original walled garden. As such the freestanding structure responds to physical context of the landscape not that of the existing house. The linear arrangement ensures that all principal rooms face across the existing lawns to the mansion house, and have access to a continuous balcony of varying depth.
