Clydebank Canopy - Competition

Clydebank and the Forth and Clyde Canal both have long and proud industrial heritages. However, as the heavy industries which allowed both to prosper no longer exist, a new future is envisioned. As part of this process, our proposals for a new bridge canopy over the canal entails the development of a sustainable identity for both town and canal. The project draws reference from the tradition of central European covered timber bridges - redefining the point of crossing as a 'room with a view'.
